What We Believe
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the true, inspired Word of God. It is the basis of all our teaching at Prince of Peace.
God
We believe in one God who exists in three persons (the Trinity)—Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit. God the Father created all that exists. Jesus Christ redeemed humanity from sin through His death and resurrection. The Holy Spirit inspires us in our faith. All three persons of the Trinity are co-equal and co-eternal.
Sin
Sin is every thought, word, and action that is contrary to the will of God for our lives that He lays out for us in the Bible. We regularly fall short of God’s will, but out of an abundance of love for His creation, God offers us full and complete forgiveness of our sins through the sacrifice of His one and only son, Jesus.
Salvation
Our message of salvation is simple: “If you declare with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). The work of Jesus on our behalf has reconciled us to God. It is by grace through faith that we are saved.
Baptism
We believe God comes to us in the sacraments. Baptism is offered to all ages.
Communion/Lord’s Supper
The Bible lays out clear guidelines for receiving the Lord’s Supper. If you are able to answer “yes” to these questions, you are invited to share this great gift of God.
– Are you baptized?
– Do you believe Jesus’ Body & Blood are present in, with, and under the bread and wine?
– Are you sorry for your sin, want to turn from it, and believe that Jesus saves you from it?
– Do you believe the teachings of this church?
We want to encourage you and help you, so please ask us if you have questions about the Lord’s Supper.
If you have a child 8th grade or younger who has not been confirmed in the Lutheran faith, they may come forward to receive a blessing.
Gluten-free wafers also available.
We are part of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS). We are dedicated to meeting the spiritual, educational, and cultural needs of our neighbors. At Prince of Peace, it’s about Community, Fellowship and Faith.
